NCHO Faculty Partnership Award Information

As the NCHO Programming Chair, I invite you to nominate a faculty member from your institution for our Faculty Partnership Award!

With the new Faculty Partnership Award, the North Carolina Housing Officers (NCHO) wants to recognize the outstanding contributions of an academic faculty member to the housing and residence life department at their institution. We seek to honor a faculty member who has helped to bridge the gap between faculty and student affairs professionals, has enhanced the out-of-classroom experience of residential students, and has gone beyond the call of duty to further the sense of community on their campus. The selected faculty member will be honored at the NCHO 2010 Conference in Chapel Hill, NC, receive free registration, and have the opportunity to present a program session.

All institutions are encouraged to participate in this program by nominating deserving individuals. Institutions may submit only one nomination. All nominations are to be no longer than 2 pages with 12 point Times New Roman font. Nominations should be accompanied by a title page (the title page is not included in the two page limit) that includes:

1) The nominee’s name, title, address, phone number, e-mail address, institution

2) The nominator’s name, title, address, phone number, e-mail address, and institution.

The nomination should clearly explain the ways in which the faculty member has interacted with residence life professionals and residential students within the past year in order to create a seamless environment of learning on their campus.

Please submit your nomination via email to Sarah Chapman at
chapmansa@appstate.edu  by Tuesday, September 7, 2010. The nominations will be reviewed by the members of the NCHO Programming Committee and the winner will be notified by Tuesday, September 14 in order to confirm their attendance at the annual NCHO conference.
